Ranga Shiteq (play of color) 2025 | Video Art project by Boni
Ranga Shetiq (Play of Colors) is a video art project created for my exhibition Traces of Roots, curated by Karim Ahmad Khan and exhibited...
Boni’s multidisciplinary practice has expanded into site-specific installation and video art, through which he explores identity, sustainability, displacement, and cultural memory. In Traces of Roots, a site-specific installation created within an old traditional house, he constructed a miniature model of a historic settlement, celebrating organic architecture and communal ways of life while drawing a comparison between the past and the rapidly changing present. His video practice further extends these concerns; in one work, Boni combines moving images with his own poetry in Wakhi, his Indigenous language, reflecting on language, memory, cultural identity, and the preservation of intangible heritage.
